Dr. Ronald Barkin earned his B.S. in Biochemistry from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He attended medical school at New York University. He then completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Yale University (Greenwich Hospital). He did a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Georgetown University.
Dr. Ronald Barkin joined Gastroenterology & Hepatology Associates in 1992.
Dr. Barkin has recently served as the Chief of Medicine at Inova Alexandria Hospital.
He has also been named as a “Top Doctor” in Consumer Checkbook Magazine, the Wasingtonian, and Northern Virginia Magazine.
His clinical interests include Colonoscopy, Dilatation, Endoscopy, ERCP, PEG, Gastroenterology, Liver Disorders, Pancreatic Disease, Polypectomy, Sigmoidoscopy, and Infrared Coagulation/Hemorrhoids.
