Dr. Shilen Lakhani was born and raised in West Virginia. After completing his undergraduate studies and receiving a Bachelor of Sciences degree at Virginia Tech, he returned to West Virginia to pursue his medical studies and graduated from the Marshall University School of Medicine.
Since obtaining his medical degree, Dr. Shilen Lakhani has been living in the metropolitan DC area. Dr. Lakhani completed both his Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology training at The Georgetown Univeristy Hospital program at Washington Hospital Center. During that time, he published numerous abstracts and presented his research at several Gastroenterology conferences throughout the country.
Dr. Lakhani has received advanced training in bilary tract diseases and interventional endoscopy.
Dr. Shilen Lakhani joined The Gastroenterology Group in 2007 and his professional interests include biliary tract disease as well as diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
In his spare time he enjoys playing soccer and golf and loves to travel. He has been listed as a top physician in The Washingtonian and Northern Virginia Magazine.
